BRAND NEW LOCATION FOR FRIGHT NIGHTS SURREY

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MANOR FARM

Manor Farm was once an isolated farmhouse built in the early 1500s with its ancient duck pond and neighboring St Bartholomew’s Church being mentioned in the Doomsday Book.  The church remained the parish church of Botley until the 1800s when it was deconsecrated. The museum was opened in 1984 and the site was once the heart of the village of Botley.

The Old Farmhouse is now split into two cottages and a barn that dates back to the 1500s.

There is also evidence of a roman road running through the site which would have run between the roman settlements of Bitterne Manor and Porchester.

There are also connections with the Royal Navy and World War Two.

MANOR FARM GHOST HUNT WILL INCLUDE:

An introduction by the host

Mediumship walkaround – who’s haunting the location?

The use of paranormal investigation equipment using both Victorian and modern methods

Vigils in the dark

Experiments including seances, sit and wait, trigger objects, glass divination.

Advice and discussion on anything paranormal

Hot and Cold refreshments

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY WITNESSED:

Staff and visitors often report strange smells and poltergeist activity especially in the cottages such as doors closing, footsteps and unexplained knocks and taps. Some have seen full body apparitions, could these be the monks who travelled from Beaulieu to Netley Abbey via the now deconsecrated church?

There have also been the sounds of children playing in and around the farm buildings, will you hear giggling and laughing?

Join Fright Nights Surrey for our first ever paranormal investigation of Manor Farm. We will have access to both cottages, the barns, the church and its neighbouring graveyard for a 6 hour investigation!
