Join Fright Nights North Wales for their second event as they investigate the Llanfyllin Workhouse!  At 180 years old, this building has seen hundreds of luckless people walk through its doors and not all of them have walked back out!

With lots of unexplained activity ranging from footsteps, shadows and slamming doors to the sounds of children laughing singing and crying. Even full-bodied apparitions have been witnessed here, so why not come along with us?  What’s the worst that can happen…….?

Our Llanfyllin Ghost Hunt Includes:

Full tour of the site with interesting details of the buildings history.
We will be joined by an excellent Medium throughout the night.
Psychic experiments.
Group and solo vigils.
Latest paranormal equipment available to play with, including thermal imagining camera and spirit box.
Expert advice from experienced paranormal investigators.
Refreshments available throughout the night.

Workhouses were places of unimaginable horror. Plagued with disease and full to the brim with the most unfortunate souls in society, to end up in one was seen to be the ultimate disgrace. Criminals vagrants and lunatics were housed with single mothers, the elderly and the disabled. If you entered with your family you needn’t think that would provide any comfort or protection, you were separated as soon as you walked through the door. Men, women, boys and girls were all housed separately and only if you were under seven would you get fleeting moments with your mother.

The Llanfyllin Workhouse does break this standard for the better in most parts. The education offered to the children saw them out-perform the local free scholars’ school in exams. Over-crowding was never really an issue and it is widely suggested that the place became a happy home for most. But there are things that couldn’t be controlled, disease was still rife here with an outbreak of Erysipelas killing at least 4 people in one day. This disease causes a grotesque swelling of the face, blisters and sickness so who knows what’s waiting for you in the dark corridors of the Llanfyllin Workhouse.

Please note: Over 18’s only and NO pregnant women allowed as per our insurance cover. Venue is usually unsuitable for disabled guests due to the nature of the buildings but if in doubt, please contact us for more information.  NO accommodation is provided unless specifically detailed.
