Come and join Fright Nights first event in North Wales, our newest area in the Fright Nights Family

NEW FOR 2020  Fright Nights North Wales first event will be at Beaumaris Gaol on the isle of Anglesey!

A prison that is fast approaching its 200th birthday, with a terrifying past, full of sad memories and desperate souls. The land has been occupied since the Viking times so there is sure to be plenty of additional company on this event!

The Beaumaris Gaol Ghost Hunt includes:

  • Psychic tour with a fully certified medium.
  • A chance to play with the most up to date ghost hunting equipment including heat sensitive camera and SLS.
  • Experiments including glass divination and room lockdown sessions.
  • Tailor made vigils – dare you go in alone?!
  • Free time to explore on your own with loan of our equipment.
  • Hot drinks and biscuits.
  • Expert advice and paranormal discussion.
  • Your chance to investigate this amazing haunted location at night!

The Gaol as it is, was built in 1829 and designed by Joseph Hansom, who also designed the Hansom cab. At its height, it could hold 30 prisoners at a time. It also boasts one of the last working treadmills in the UK amongst numerous other torture implements including chains, whips and isolation cells.

The prison was considered quite modern and humane for its time, though some of the methods used would make your toes curl!

On the top floor are the condemned men’s cells. Once a prisoner was taken out of here, they were led down a cold dark corridor to a door at the very end of the building, on the other side ….  a 15 ft drop at the end of the hangman’s noose!  There are only two known hangings at the site and both prisoners were buried within the Gaol walls!  Evidence of this is still visible today and you can stand in the cell or look at the door where these men took their last breath. There is also a plaque marking the supposed burial site!

Doors slamming, footsteps and blood curdling screams have all been heard within the walls of this impressive building.  After its time as a prison, it was briefly used as a police station and then as a children’s clinic.  There are even reports of spirits from this time period being present.

What will you encounter? A hardened criminal executed for unforgivable crimes or simply a lost child looking for their mum…… There’s only one way to find out!

Come and join Fright Nights North Wales at this incredible building!
